My Solo Trip to San Francisco

My trip to San Francisco was wonderful. I got to a point where I just needed to take time to get away, breathe, spend a little time in nature, and find my creativity again. I packed my prayer journal, a sketch book, my Pentax, and some film, and spent a lot of time outdoors. I wandered beaches and people-watched and ate some amazing meals. I stayed with close friends who cooked me dinner each night and reminded me what I am grateful for. It was a short trip but a fulfilling act of self-care.

This trip certainly gave me a travel itch. I started to think about the looming mastectomy and how I’ll be stuck for awhile. I feel good every “week 3” of chemo so I planned two more trips for my last 2 rounds: Miami, White Sands, and Marfa. I’ll keep you posted :)
