Chemo Rounds 3 & 4

Happy to report that rounds 3 and 4 of TCHP were much more tolerable than 1 and 2. As usual, the infusion itself was pretty uneventful except that a dietician and a social worker checked in with me. I honestly can't recall a word either of them said because of the Benadryl and Ativan. Apparently I asked them a lot of questions but I cant remember any of the answers! I'm not sure why anyone with anything important to say comes to talk with me during the infusion. I saw this meme on @thecancerpatient so I know I’m not the only one…

In the days following the infusion I waited for the side effects to hit but they never did. Nothing. Not a single side effect. It was bizarre! I was able to do lots of yoga classes and a few spin classes as well. I guess my body is getting used to this?

Round 4 brought some headaches and lots of charlie-horse cramps which was strange. I'm assuming it’s because I was a little dehydrated. Other than that, no side-effects again! I thought all of this would be cumulative but it has just gotten easier and easier to deal with physically. I'm finally starting to feel like myself again and that feels good.

I'm losing a bit more hair than the first two rounds but still nothing drastic. Its safe to say I am a HUGE fan of cold capping and so glad I've been able to keep my hair in all of this.

I'll keep you all posted on my last 2 rounds! I’m hoping they are as easy as these 2 have been. If you’re in the beginning of your treatment and having a tough time please stay strong and know that it does get better. You can do this. Put one foot in front of the other and take it a day at a time.
